Position: Autovol Automation Maintenance Technician Solutioneer

DESCRIPTION AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

We are seeking an exceptional Automation Maintenance Technician who can support our efforts to provide outstanding support and technical services to our manufacturing assembly line.

ABB-specific robotic experience is not required but preferred. The ideal candidate must be both technical and creative with an ability to execute and have a basic understanding of industrial robotics, conveyances, and other current automation technologies as well as industrial maintenance. The Automation Maintenance Technician will provide timely, efficient, error-free solutions for operational issues, identifying replacement or spare parts, documentation, or troubleshooting systems and components.

The Automation Maintenance Technician positions require a basic understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components and their theory of operation. Must be able to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshooting of mechanical systems, and various automation components of robotic systems.
  • Familiarity with the integration of Safety controllers (PLC) and machine vision systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial standards in safety and automation systems.
  • Resolve assembly difficulties by working with engineering and systems integration to implement solutions
  • Verifies specifications and tests assemblies and subassemblies ensuring correct operation and function
  • Install and test electrical control components, Input/output devices, sensors, and associated cabling
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, shop rules, and regulations
  • Work within and promotes Autovol’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, conveyance systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and electrical systems (high voltage and low voltage, PLC’s).
  • Desire to innovate and create with a willingness to stretch the limits of what’s been done before.
  • Willingness to implement processes, instructions, and strategies to improve our performance as a team.
  • Willing and able to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
  • Solid organizational skills including detail-oriented personality and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot equipment problems and perform system tests.
  • A proven track record of successful interactions with others and resolving problems and implementing solutions within automated systems is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting 50+ pounds regularly.
