Position: Quality Assurance Manager

The primary role of this position is to oversee the Quality Assurance process at the modular factory. This will be accomplished in conformance with quality standards using ethical work practices, observing all applicable government laws and regulations, building codes, and company policies. The Quality Assurance Manager has the authority to prevent any floor from being moved to the next production station. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possess a working knowledge of the Modular Construction package
  • Ensure that all applicable stale and local building codes are adhered to in the construction process
  • Continually broaden his or her knowledge of the IRC/IBC with state revisions, NEC, ARMA, MHSCS (3280)
  • Ensure that all manufacturer’s installation instructions are adhered to and maintain current file of all manufacturers’ instructions and warranties
  • Overseeing the quality inspection process through constant monitoring, the QA Manager shall ensure to the best of his/her knowledge that every building is free of defects in regards to all applicable codes and standards
  • Oversee the quality inspection process through constant monitoring, the QA Manager shall continually assess the performance of the Quality Assurance process in place while evaluating the performance of those individuals with responsibilities within the Quality Assurance process.
  • Establishes, monitors and reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), for project teams to ensure continuous improvement. Analyzes project KPIs, evaluates trends and provides improvement strategies.
  • QA Manager will be the liaison with the third party IPIA and with state inspection agencies
  • The QA Manager shall routinely monitor construction materials to ensure they meet all applicable codes and standards, i.e. moisture content of lumber
  • Develop and distribute the QA traveler including a “HOT” list (2 violations in 10 inspections) to each floor entering production
  • Compile all reports required by individual states
  • Assist in developing Job Process Requirements (JPR) and administering Training Acknowledgments that heighten awareness of requirements and build a culture of self-inspection
  • The QA Manager shall, by means of any reports on metrics, and communication with the Quality Department, institute corrective action
  • Work with the necessary teams/individuals to identify systemic defects, find their root causes and initiate systems to prevent their recurrence
  • Keep CEO and peers informed, seek their advice, involvement and approval when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Autovol management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You must be able to walk, climb, lift loads of at least 30 lbs. and perform such other physical duties as may be necessary to carry out the job functions described above
  • You must be able to communicate honestly, effectively and clearly with customers, peers, and supervisors verbally and in writing
  • Unwavering commitment to conform to the requirements. Ability to hold others accountable in a manner that produces maximum conformity and minimal strife. Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Have very good interpersonal skills and a high tolerance for stress. Should be able to resolve conflicts in a fair, reasonable and professional manner
  • Demonstrated high level organizational, construction inspection, and record keeping skills
  • Monitor and inspect construction activities and advise on quality control and quality assurance issues, such as non-compliance with standards, or potential problems

EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in modular housing
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional quality control / quality assurance experience in the construction sector
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent related field experience with International Code Counsel, NICET, etc.
  • Candidates with additional experience and/or education other than those listed above may be considered
  • Strong knowledge of State and local municipalities building codes expected. CA / ID preferred.

Salary: $40,000 – $75,000
