Position: MEP Project Designer

Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs. Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions.

  • Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports. Identify challenges in architectural plans and make necessary changes for the automation plant.
  • Assist with BIM Project setup including library creation and workflow analysis. Developing and Integrating CAD models for MEP systems such as HVAC, Fire Safety, Electrical and Lighting Systems, and Plumbing systems for the automated plant.
  • Generate XML files to construct floors, ceilings, and walls on the automation line according to robotic constraints.
  • Generate and modify CSV and HDB files for the automation line.
  • Generate BVX files for Hundegger saws to minimize waste production and time and increase material handling efficiency.
  • Document automation processes, and efficient techniques for generating XML, CSV, and BVX files. Plan short and long-term strategies in material handling, storage, and reutilizing techniques. Assist operators, supervisors, and managers in the plant to sort out shop issues and design challenges.
  • Meet project deadlines and weekly goals by keeping up with unprepared change orders. Use Revit software to accurately model floors, ceilings, and walls for modular construction. Utilize C and C++ programming knowledge to fix and eliminate any bugs in the XML code.


Utilize design software like Autodesk Revit, Solid works.  Requires Masters in Mechanical Engineering, or related. Requires any knowledge of, or academic coursework involving:

  1. Design software like Autodesk Revit, Solid works,
  2. C and C++ programming,
  3. Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports,
  4. Designing techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing shop drawings, plans, and models,
  5. Shop drawing updates, RFIs, and change orders, and
  6. Developing and Integrating CAD models for MEP systems such as HVAC, Fire Safety, Electrical and Lighting Systems, and Plumbing systems.
